I can imagine the pain for the family. Please everyone, release that internal pain with your voice to a professional or someone who you hold close to your hearts. That may not fix the problem, but its helpful. To his family, be strong and lean on each other.

It's like a catch-22 situation for police officers, cause they have to be head strong to be fit for duty. That's why they have to undergo psychological evaluation before hiring. Seeking help is like saying they are no longer head strong.

I have read many articles about the prevalence of suicide in law enforcement. I worked a temp job at DPS HQ in Austin and just in the short time I was there, the head of the department I worked in, a Major, died just before Christmas. He was such a sweet guy...
