On behance I´ve got quite a few of such messages. I often wonder, how many artists they send the same message. What is the real purpose of such messages. Do they want to get an overview, what artists charge? But luckily it´s a good indicator of how professional the sender is.

And what if the sender IS NOT a professional? Just an amateur who has no idea if he can afford your products?
It might sound rude, but I don´t react anymore on messages just asking for my price. I did it 2 or 3 times and NONE of them got answered. A really job opportunity looks different, believe me! Infos about the project, the companies behind, the work needed, budget sometimes, etc.

You are a game artist. That is another point. I got involved in the debate only because I am looking for a landscape painter for my hobby project (no company just savings ). ;-)

And why is a background, landscape painter something else? Well to be fair, it depends a lot on the artist too and the situation of both. But assuming neither know, it's always best to be as detailed about what you want upfront. Otherwise, I'm hardly even considering responding.
