ARTIST TIP: How to practice straight lines Years ago I learned this simple but super effective method by watching a video of @FengZhuDesign Steps: 1. make 2 dots with a certain distance 2. ghostdraw the lines before real drawing 3. draw the line 4. increase distance over timepic.twitter.com/kvARfIvu4U

Thanks for the mention Marcel! And one more: Try to keep your elbow on the table while drawing. Place the Wacom deep on the table to allow your elbow to swing naturally. This also takes the strain off your wrist and prevents carpal tunnel (still no wrist pain after 25 years).

Huge thanks Feng, for the additional tip! After I read your comment, I observed, how I do it. Actually I do it exactly this way naturally. :) I think, otherwise long straight lines would be really hard to do. So this came kinda automatically.

Also helps - depending on the distance between the dots - to use your wrist or shoulder for a complete movement.

I usually take my elbow as an anchor point on the table for the whole movement :)
