      Lighting in digital painting can be overwhelming for students. My approach is to compartmentalize the scene into a miniature set. Turn on one light at a time and focus on creating contrasts.           I don't do a lot of renders tbh, but yes pretty much, both in real life and digitally. Seeing it called out like this drives home how transferable the skills really are.
