I should practice human faces and expressions way more. My current task for a client drives me crazy 
I often see male and female characters with neutral faces here on my TL. How do you approach expressions like crazy smiles, pokerfaces, angry faces or whatsoever?

Just focusing on the volume and shadows. Try to exaggerate the expressions and shapes of your characters a little bit. With that push and deformation you will experiment more life in your sketches, also with bodies, movement, etc
