We need some shine in darkest times like this, it helps cope with all the news
Creating funny characters and toony, colorful illustrations for clients feels pretty odd these days. Hard to enjoy the process, when everywhere are all these awful and horrible news. How do you cope with this?

Just gotta learn to ignore the negativity in the world sometimes, listen to fun music or play some nintendo games Also keep in mind that a lot of negativity is amplified by news sites that get clicks by making people mad/scared and through the echo chambers of the internet

Just to be clear, I don't mean don't listen to the news, just take some stuff with a grain of salt because exaggerated headlines are how they get clicks and angry/opinionated reporters can be a thing

I think something light-hearted/toony/colorful is going to important to a lot of ppl rn I had two comics I wanted to launch this year & one involved a plague storyline- so glad I dropped that one to focus on the other I don't think I could've continued it in our current reality

I think for me, creating something light or comical allows me to drift into that mindset while creating. Knowing that it will cheer someone else too helps me to focus.

I don't know too how we deal with all this and the indirect problems it's causing like a domino effect... I guess we internally just deal with it by brute force of work routine, that's how I'm doing (not saying it's the best approach)
