I used the new rendering engine, Eevee, and turned on Bloom. In Cycles you have to do nodes.
(To use Eevee you need to have the Blender 2.8 beta, or wait for it's release in July. You can get the beta from the Blender website! )pic.twitter.com/qY5bOdqULh

That is correct!
I used the "Import Images as Planes" addon to import a quick background plane I drew. Though the emission level is set so high you can't really make out the background, so I could have just used a normal plane instead..
