Until recently, the whole scientific community was certain that rich men NO LONGER do have more offspring.

Never read that. A simple afternoon at a countryclub should give a clue.

In lots of cases I think science is just there to confirm what we already know, even though many like to deny it.

Who denies that women who have higher status and are more educated have few children? Having more children is not an advantage for a woman. Having a bunch of children is not what women with higher status want. I thought this was common sense.

It's not just that they have fewer children, it's also that they find it harder to find a spouse because they look more for mates of equal and higher status while men look for women of equal and lower status.

Yep. So? Should women conform to a lower status in order to find a mate? If that's what males think women should do, you guys think very highly of yourselves. Otherwise, I don't understand what this "study" is trying to prove.

It also goes against the feminist narrative that the patriarchy stops women from succeeding. No, men simply have more incentive to work high effort/high status jobs. Therefore the priorities of women and men are different.

That makes absolutely no sense. And what you are describing is not a feminist narrative. It's a fact. What stops women from succeeding in your opinion? They are lazy?

I never said that. I said they have different priorities. Women are more interested in work-life-balance on average. But the minority of women AND men work these high effort careers. It's only a small minority of people in general that are stress-resistant and determined enough..
