Boomers were really the last people to be able to live like that in the US, maybe a *handful* of older Gen Xers. Most Gen Xers, millennials could not afford anything like that, let alone one in or near a city.

Mind you, this was mostly only white families that could do this, anyway. There was active discrimination, redlining and real estate companies that just would not sell houses to Black people.
