I think that this one is also mentioned by Seymour Papert and expanded by Mitchel Resnick with the concept of 'wide walls' mentioning how to support different ways to go from 'floors' to 'ceilings'

Ah of course was Paypert! Nice, thanks for finding the reference link. I’d heard it related to MITs scratch language so makes sense it’s originally from him
