Help solve a mystery. A few times a day I pick up my iPhone and somehow trigger this state: the lock screen slides down to make room for a strange black area + arrow above. Haven’t a clue what this mode is or what it does. Can’t find any other interaction affordances… wat?

Mystery quickly solved 🙏 Thanks for the help! TIL about the "reachability" feature - support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/ip Funny I couldn't pattern match enough to figure out how I was triggering it - turns out by lightly double-tapping the home button.
