This feels like a reinvention of oEmbed but needs a Hello World example (and probably a new name) that makes it easier to understand.

1/ We've been working a new protocol at @hashintel It's called the block protocol (but NOT about blockchain or NFTs!) It allows you to build reusable blocks (aka. components) that are interchangeable across website/apps It takes a minute to explain, but Iโ€™ve drawn picturesโ€ฆ

Able to do more than oEmbeds; blocks can read + write data to their embedding apps (obviously, with security limitations and permission) It's just the communication layer. Not a specific component framework (eg. Web Components, React, etc) Agree re: 'hello world' - coming soon!

That sounds great. The current explanations are too abstract for me. One or two simple explanations with working code would really help people understand what this is and how it will work with their existing infrastructure.
