One process I still can’t do well in available software is structuring talks & essays. Requires a spatial canvas that handles text well. Always still happens in a notebook, or a giant sheet of paper. Miro is decent, but unconnected to existing notes in Roam, links to refs, etc.

I've been wondering about this topic for awhile. Part of me thinks that it's maybe not something that would benefit from software. My theory is that both the analog process, and the process of moving to digital are key to why this works well.

2/ …Chuck them onto a wall/spatial canvas to physically group them into themes and categories. Then can summarise under key words and delete/hide cruft. Then draw directional arrows to indicate logical flow.

At the moment things slip through the cracks. Points, quotes, and refs I jotted down weeks ago are lost in the process. No connection between fine grained source material and large overview maps
