Interesting article, thanks. But it sounds like the old N+1 standards approach (xkcd.com/927/) What do you think of org-mode as the answer? Very readable, way more complete (todo's, tables, tags...) and in use by a large community for decades.

I think org-mode is inaccessible to 95% of people who arenโt programmers.
WYSIWYG block-based editors are the most democratising + useable medium weโve seen to date, and developing new standards is inevitable and not inherently bad
Take that with a large grain of salt though. ๐
I personally found org-mode hard to work in. And Iโm actively involved in projects to expand and standardise block-based interfaces. Strong bias towards my own research interests.
