The floor for new “note-taking apps” now includes bi-directional links, local data/self-hosted, complex block types, transclusions, advanced queries, graph viz, spaced repetition systems, multiplayer, and a slice of cake. Some think we’re in hell. Seems pretty great to me 😎

Yes, cake, mine waiting for me with a hot mug of coffee. I'm a bit surprised beliefs and pseudo-science are propagating faster in the TFT community than evidence-based science. It seems contradictory to prove those tools enhance thinking. Or it's just about cults. Tfc :)

Maybe too jaded, but I'm not surprised at the lack of evidence-based science in most product dev and TfT efforts? No established canonical bodies of knowledge, organised centres of learning, mentorship, shared terminology, etc. Appreciate Andy's thoughts:

I left 's patreon because he was on his own thinking, didn't engage and take suggestions. I told him about retrieval practice, never seen him change. There are tons of real scientific researchers why believing to an amateur? cuz he comes from software community?

Citing and reading established research would be nice for the community. No shortage of material to talk about (and implement, even if for evaluation purposes). We'll never get bored.
