Right? So far the "Visual" in Visual Studio Code is just extreme clutter and color themes :(

Most of the usefulness of "GUI" text editors that just manipulate plain text goes right into the obsolescence bin with this sort of approach to editing code.

VPLs like this one are primarily valuable in educational environments / as training wheels – making the implicit slightly more explicit. They’re not intended to be used for professional engineering.

XCode & Swift aren't far off this approach, and tbh I prefer it. Worrying about formatting is an archaic and pointless game imho.

I certainly haven't tried to suggest that anyone isn't entitled to whatever tool they want? You said that these visual representations are only toys / learning tools. I wish they were more prevalent because as a developer with a bit of experience I find the approach useful.
