It seems this is tied directly to sync vs. async "spaces". I think is building something like this w/in their ecosystem - but in the broad web, seems to β‘οΈ in that direction.

How do you fire those emojis in so quickly? You have a plugin so that you can insert them when typing? Instead of time-consuming copy and paste.

Yeah, same, I "UNFOLLOWED" all but 3 of the people it connected me to by default.
It's really a reflection of the techno-plutocratic nature of the main veins of the web, imo. The self-help aspirational capitalist vein of the internet.

To original q, first thing that comes to mind is seeing people you know in twitter replies + joining in. I like how that can be semi-synchronousβ¦*Clubhouse* clubhouse not for me lol, small scale community chats though for sure!
