Agree it has potential, but I haven't been able to use it
My list of base requirements is demanding 😅
- pressure sensitivity mapped to stoke size and opacity
- quick draw shapes (square, circle, arrow)

We then might also have to solve the tragic situation that most of us can't draw directly on our laptop screens, and would have to all go get egregiously expensive secondary devices like iPad pros to make it widely useable.

there could be middle terms no? for regular folks procreate would too much of a learning curve , not even vector based #justSaying

Agreed – definitely a simplified version of procreate.
There's no need for layers with 20 blending modes and clipping masks.
Thinking on the level of what pencil & paper affords us, not a full blown set of oil paints.
Drilling down to more specifics what “atomic level” drawing tool interactions would you like embedded in the thought environment that provides?
There has been so much work in making okay-ish digital whiteboards recently and I think that people who don’t necessarily ID as creators/artists would find the ability to capture things with a drawing function would find it useful - I think this would open up new domain in Roam

Of course there’s the complicated aspect of how it connects to the broader “semantic” environment - like I bet they’d want you to be able to do targeted backlinking within a drawing - like lasso tooling and then tagging selections of raster zones
