So far as I know, it's from by
Foxes hugely outperformed hedgehogs in political forecasting. I think we have a tendancy to think all paths are equal when some outperform others.

An interesting link, here, to work suggesting that high performers aren't more logical, they might be better at harnessing their intuition.
