Heavy gardening weekend πΏ
Finally finished integrating hover page previews, and bi-directional reference links.
All the notes now have growth stage tags. Seedlings > Budding > Evergreens.
Plus some fresh book notes

The fancy bi-drectional linking magic on my site is thanks to βs Gatsby Brain theme!

Theyβre also making video tutorials on how to setup it up. If youβre a Gardener definitely give it a look

I'm trying my hand at video making! Just uploaded a video on setting up tools for @gatsbyjs development on Mac. youtube.com/watch?v=tLYQ_F
Hoping to turn this into a series on going from zero to a complete and published website using gatsby-theme-brain over the next few weeks.

Not sure if you mean tools or process?
itβs a gross jungle of Gatsby + MDX wildness on the tech side π
(lets call it βcreative codeβ)
I let things grow in Roam first - have a tagging/spaced repetition system going. once itβs semi legible I pop it up here & add over time.

This is in my list of books that changed my mind!

It is impossible to understand the Philippines without understanding nationalism. Benedict Anderson's imagined communities is the book to read. Especially for post colonial nationalisms, like that of ours.

Oh nice! It was definitely transformative for me when I first read it as a student. I still need to flesh out these notes. Still missing plenty of the meaty bits

Inspiring, π
Is all information stored on the blog, or do you sync with Roam? Do you keep track of and grow seedlings in Roam?

Itβs all written in for the site as I like mixing words and visuals and interactive elements. So need to write in an environment where I can mix in React components and CSS.
But for initial Ideas, drafts, and planning itβs all in Roam.

Hi! Do you see Digital Gardens as something as more of an online journal and as a superset of what blogs could be and achieve? While building a personal website today, is it better to go with a digital gardens format then widely used "blog" structure?
