If you wanna go to a cool bar, I recommend going to the Atlas Bar. It's a little bit pricey (Gin and Tonic is S$19) but more affordable than you'd expect considering how opulent the place looks. the building it's in has a lot of personality ("the gotham building").

My personal favourite for pure weirdness was LaSalle college.
Took figure drawing classes there all throughout high school. The uncomfortable astroturf in the centre doesn't quite give you the "oasis" feel they were going for.
