For everyone that’s curious how I make these, I made a nauseatingly speedy screen recording of the whole process.
It comes in three parts - Heres the first one where I’m laying down basic vector shapes over my sketch in adobe illustrator.

Part two - Once I have all the vector shapes blocked in and the composition balance feels good, I start pedantically adding details, gradients and lighting effects into the shapes.

And then finally in part three I export the vectors from illustrator into photoshop and hand-paint in more details, lighting, and colour work using a Cintiq digital tablet.
Full on OCD indulgence while doing this #sorrynotsorry
