Getting architectural with sketches and thumbnails from the International City University in Paris
There's a lot of satisfying detail in drawing roofs. I'd never paid them much attention before!

You mean what materials? These are in black polychromous pencils on smooth white Bristol paper

Visually those are a bit similar to a high contrast "overexposed" high-key photos. Completely different tools, but similar effect. Opposite would be a low-key photo/drawing, by adding white/light colour on top of a dark background colour/paper.
