A lot of of being “good” at drawing is built off how well you can mentally turn basic 3D forms in space.
I studied with a lot of visual development artists who had us do drills like this – take a box and turn it in every direction. Repeat until you memorise.

There is a test in the federal government they used to use for job placement. It tests certain generic skills. Fake language translation, number patterns, etc. This was one of the tests and the one I flat out bombed. I just can't picture it in my head!
