A lot of of being βgoodβ at drawing is built off how well you can mentally turn basic 3D forms in space.
I studied with a lot of visual development artists who had us do drills like this β take a box and turn it in every direction. Repeat until you memorise.

Do you finish a column before moving to the next one? seems harder to go around in a circle but then again, I have no reference for how difficult this is other than π€―π€―

Yeah itβs certainly easier to work across each row or column before shifting to the next.
The very front corner of each box lines up with all the others in its row / column.
I find the front corner first (based on the row and column) and calculate the lines back from there.
