As someone who is short sighted, I can hardly see that new design change at all. The verified check mark made it easier for me to see whether some channels were legitimate or not. Not a great thing for those who just met the requirement, this is a horrible update.

unfortunately youtube can't make everyone happy

No... YouTube REFUSES to make anyone happy.

its crazy how people go ape shit on the smallest of changes. it's like if they're desperately trying to complain about something all the time. it's not youtube that refuses to make anyone happy, it's everyone else that keeps hating for no goddamn reason

Oh, so you're a verified YouTuber and therefore can have an opinion on this change since it directly affects you?pic.twitter.com/1GTNvjUuLH

what does the removal of a verified check do to a youtuber?

You have to understand, we legitimately put work into getting that checkmark, as it's a part of getting 100k subscribers. Tons of YouTubers are getting that wiped from them for no reason, and I've only had it for a few months.

despite the fact that you avoided my question, i can totally understand people like you that work hard to reach such a high number in subs. but the verified check doesn't pay the bills, so i don't see the problem here

The problem is that checkmark is both a milestone marker AND a checkmark to avoid impersonators from going on other's videos and spamming fake giveaways and shit!

i'm pretty sure the verified check isn't a milestone mark but just symbol to indicate that you're a trusted youtuber. and plus if someone is dumb enough to click on those fake giveaway comments they'd have to be below the age of 9

You have to have 100k+ subs to have the checkmark. It is a part of the milestone. Oh so you're all good for the exploitation of children, is that where we're going with this?

no, of course not. although the kids exploitation is kind of a reach because they shouldn't be anywhere near the channels that had their checkmark removed. so i can agree with the fact that they're removing checkmarks from channels that don't follow the "kid friendly" criteria
