Notre Dame is an important piece of culture and human history. Australia, not so much
-
Australia is home to the OLDEST human civilisation for a start. The land that is currently burning has been cultivated, cared for and worshipped for tens and thousands of years by Indigenous Australians. Between 50,000-75,000 years to be exact. The Notre Dame is 857 years old.

Not quite. https://www.france24.com/en/20190615-france-small-donor-rebuilding-notre-dame-cathedral-paris-fire-french-billionaire-charity-us … Billions were pledged by people who thought they'd get a wing named after themselves or w/e. They all refused to pay a cent for things like wages for cleanup workers. The only difference is they never thought they could get ads into forests.
-
For an organization that has billions in revenue and doesn't pay taxes, the church shouldn't be asking for donations to rebuild.

Remember that the millionaires and billionaires that pledged to Notre Dame almost universally withdrew their pledges when told they would not be allowed to put their branding on the reconstruction.
-
Is that true? Do you have a source? I hadn’t heard that.
