Additionally, for those of you who, like me, have a verse-cherry-picking pet peeve, Ephesians 6:12 (NIV) states: "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world...
...and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms." One could read that as more subversive of our current political situations than say, that of the Devil.
