    This is the first piece for my fellowship and I'm so proud of it.

    Women writers, directors, and cinematographers can create films that are female-led, or that prioritize women characters—but do they necessarily champion the female gaze?

    UCSC fired me, along with 53 other grad workers, for striking. A dozen of other grads engaged in the labor action won't get hired for spring. At least 70 people lost their appointments. If you considered going to , I urge you not to. It's an truly authoritarian institution!

    Every so often I am reminded that teen vogue is a place to go for good political content and this might be the time I am utterly convinced of it

    The only acceptable image of a Muslim victim of violence is either one of death or one of utter abjection, begging for his/her life or mourning for others. Any other move will be painted as hyper-violent. Not even counterviolence. This is the vile and absurd reality.

    Breaking: AAP councillor Tahir Hussain booked for arson and murder in Delhi riots. Good. Hope to see more such action against ALL those who incited violence or participated in it..
