He specifically mentions that it's a seperate thing from X and that Xrd might not even be finished yet. (ok?) 3: May's visual redesign is a direct consequence of making her more mass appealing. 4: They are fine with the damage as it stands cause rounds take the same time.
5: He compares Xrd and Strive to Shogi and Mahjong. Mahjong is a game with a much more prevalent luck component. 6: Oki was specifically downgraded to not allow advanced players to put new players in positions where they feel they are defenseless.

I'm glad actually. The game certainly has a lot going for it and the impact of everything is stellar. But a lot of the Xrd players I know expect very specific things from a Guilty Gear, hence why we are so critical of the new mechanics.
In the interview Daisuke still ensures depth and creativity is one of their main focuses, and that he often turns down ideas from the team that seem TOO simple. The RC system alone makes this game more complex than almost any other fighting game on the market today.
He contradicts himself multiple times when it comes to this stuff. He even admits in this interview that the old RC system allowed people too be too free. If 90% of what you say is "reduce complexity to level the playing field" the "but theres still some left" is just dmg control
Ok this whole thread is actually concerning to me,but if the game has stuff that experienced players can do to dunk ppl that refuse to be better im fine with it. I dont want a game that scrubs can beat professionals
Strong players will still consistently beat weaker players. But since the amount of decisions for a victory are fewer, robbery is more likely, even in contrast to the oppressive xrd oki. Danger time was kinda like this too and it was universally hated for being needlessly random.
