> How do you choose goals?
Glad you asked! We host an online workshop on this every New Year's called the Goal-Crafting Intensive. This year we have 4 sessions—sign up here: http://complice.co/event/plan2020?tw=moG1 …
Here's a high-level thread on some of what we share in the workshop

4/ Okay, now you have a new problem, which is opportunity cost: you can't pursue everything all at once! So here's the choice moment—and there's various approaches to this. We have a guide for narrowing down your dream list, and some methods for working with quantifiable goals.

5/ We often suggest starting by asking "why" then removing goals that probably aren't a good fit: - if you can’t think of reasons - if the reasons aren't things you really care about - if the goal doesn't really help w the reasons - if it conflicts with a more important goal

5/ After that, the Multipurpose Heuristic: Can you find one goal to pursue that will help you simultaneously
learn something you want to learn
make money
build relationships
etc?
(make sure those are likely outcomes, not just "hypothetically it could help with...")Prikaži ovu nit -
6/ Another heuristic is something like "what am I really excited about right now? where will my attention naturally be drawn?" (by contrast, what feels important but can wait?) Try to tap into your own reasons for doing things, not just others' expectations.

7/ Most importantly, remember that as long as you don't get fixated, having imperfect working-clarity is better than staying undecided. Sometimes you need to get moving before you can clearly see where you want to go. So pick something & reassess later.https://twitter.com/rfinz/status/1202700809949106188 …

8/ On which note, it's very easy to just read a thread like this & go "ahh yes great ideas, I'll apply them sometime" & not actually do it. Make time in your calendar. One way to do that is to get a ticket to the goal-crafting workshop. But alone is ok

9/ That said, lots of challenges show up, making it easy to get discouraged & quit partway through. This is why at GCI, in addition to the coworking time & vids/exercises, you get a private slack channel with all of our experienced coaches, to share your process and get unstuck.

10/ The workshop includes a ton of other content too—this thread is basically just about one subsection of the Goal Crafting module. There's also Planning, Execution & Reflection. Learn more & sign up here: http://complice.co/event/plan2020?tw=moG2 …

no action = "dream"
actions just for show = "signalling"
