This narrative is of suspicious origin. I'm currently inclined to believe it the result of urban-rural cultural differences, but do wonder, so I'll ask: what government tyranny do you posit as just cause for this gun owner revolt you believe should have already happened?

For their goals? Yes it will. This is an ideological war. We either win it on ideological grounds, or we lose: if we shoot first, we die. The goal should be to figure out a way to make them shoot first. Not in isolated incidences, but en masse, i.e. induce actual state tyranny.
