Yes, but to an Islamophobe a woman wearing a hijab stands out more obviously as Muslim, so it's not incorrect, if you look at the Islamophobia behind such attacks
I am not denying that fact but calling a woman wearing a head scarf as "Muslim woman" is a disservice to rest of proud Muslim women who choose not to wear it. It's the very same mentality that Islamophobes are attacking any woman in a scarf thinking they must be Muslim.
true, but it's not an Hermes scarf she's wearing for fasion. it's 99 percent clear that, that woman was Muslim (wearing the kind of hijab many Muslim women do wear) and if Islamophobia is already a problem there, it's fair to think she was targeted for being Muslim
If a Muslim woman is telling you she doesn’t like the fact the media uses ‘Muslim women’to mean women in Hijab only, whats wrong with that? Lady being attacked is a visible Muslim woman wearing a hijab & thought majority of attacks are,it’s not just the hijab that directs attacks
Turban wearing Sikh men are usually biggest targets for being “Muslim” - Islamaphobia is not limited to hijabis.
Islamophobia is serious issue and next to that something needs to be done to make these bigots understand that they are attacking people who they perceive as Muslims and not Muslims necessarily. We are all the same humans regardless of what we wear. They need to be shamed.
