Yes, not just private funders! :) Why should a journal be able to charge an admission fee for the public to benefit from science funded by, say, the National Science Foundation? Time to break down those walls.

It's one more advantage the peddlers of disinformation have over academics. Blog posts and YouTube diatribes are free. And if a layperson tries to find real research but hits a paywall it feeds the slander that AGW is about research profits. Many assume we get paid for articles.
