The person who copyright striked my channel has followed up via e-mail. He's extorting me for €200 to remove the strike @TeamYouTube I've used 25 seconds of music in the outro of a 5 minute video. Is this something I can dispute somehow? Please help

Well, it was just a matter of time.. Although you're mostly using non-commercial music in your videos, you're still using other people's material for personal gain so.. What's all the fuss?

Fair use is with regards to transformational, parody or commentary that utilises copyright protected material. If, as you describe, you used the music as an outro theme then your useage does not fall under fair use. Instead the track rights should be purchased from the owner.

Except you can sample music that is under 30 seconds long so...it is fair use.

Not for use as underscore or a theme, only for transformational purposes such as remixing

No, it isn't! We have to pay for every second of music that appears in our productions. Clearly none of you work in the film or TV industry. What do you think a music supervisor does? They source and pay for the sync rights from the artists or publishers.

Its by all means NOT fair use, since he is pretty much advertising his Twitch Stream with his Youtube channel. And since he makes money via Twitch he can actually make no "fair use" videos.

That's not actually right either. He can make fair use content, using clips etc to critique something, or parody it, and still advertise his twitch channel on his Youtube. But here he has simply taken someone's music to use as his outro theme, that is definitely NOT fair use.
