(of course, Cuomo wasn't suffering from a lack of sex, but of human connection; the whole thesis of the album is that sex is a poor substitute for meaningful relationships, which he can't find because all he does is use women, which he admits to in the last track)

"Tired of Sex" resounds with the question of why, amidst all that rock star sex he got, he couldn't find love. "Why can't I be making love / come true?" and ends with a metaphor about how he's a user because he doesn't know how not to be, and a soft, sincere apology.

Like, he starts with the cry of I CANT GET A GIRLFRIEND, bitches about the women he DOES get to fuck, gets creepy about a high school girl in Japan, resents a dyke he has a crush on, and then...realizes he's the problem.

There's a whole bit there about how he affects the aloofness of a monk to impress women, how he's ultimately trying to win the affection of a mother he simultaneously attacks and resents. The album is so fucking...self-aware that it elevates the banality of its theme.

"poor sensitive boy can't get the girl" becomes a very damning bit of self-exposure; Cuomo simply never looks good, and that's the point.

it's an album about the shitty inside experience of *being* a toxic white dude, the limited tools to have to cope with it, the temptation to project what you want on the women in your life, and the need for change.
