I suspect that right now there's an overstock and dealers are trying to cut their losses with good prices. Probably not sustainable, so once supply dwindles, the bangs should lessen. Also 90% of our fireworks are from China. These are the ones that were already here, I bet.

At least in NY most of them are illegal, giving you the right to complain to the authorities. Here in Indiana the fireworks lobby bought some legislators a few years back and they are all legal.
