Gotta be honest, June 21 felt a long way off when I made the plasma donation appointment, but now that it's less than 48 hours away, I am fully in "jesus christ what the hell was I thinking" mode

(you're going to do great.)

Thanks! Embarrassingly, NYBC still had my info on file from the time in college when I tried to donate blood and had a panic attack and started screaming to take the needle out. This will be my first time trying since then.
But I'm committed. - 1 réponse de plus

Nice gesture. Congratulations. But why on Earth would an appointment take so long? With the pandemic raging they ought to be sending a limousine to pick you up.
-
It's because so many people have volunteered to donate that all their appointments are booked a month out! So, a good reason.

Where are you going to donate plasma? Red Cross' earliest was July 15th and closest was Princeton, NJ. Hoping I can figure it out in Manhattan.

New York Blood Center. Here's the form, but they're overwhelmed and taking up to two weeks to get back to people who apply. So I wouldn't count on getting an appointment there earlier than July 15, but it would certainly be more convenient than Princeton! https://www.nybc.org/donate-blood/covid-19-and-blood-donation-copy/convalescent-plasma-covid-19-donor-request-form/ …
