“Now you learn: you have to disinfect subway cars.” ~ Gov. Andrew Cuomo, May 5, 2020 — approximately 116 years after the NYC subways first started operating. Someone tell me they’ve disinfected the cars before. Please. Somebody tell me even if it’s not true.
I have never felt so vindicated for my refusal to touch subway poles. I won't touch them. I will never touch them. I know my line well enough to anticipate every station and every curve and shift my weight accordingly. And goddammit, I'm right.

I'm with you, but if I'm in a position where I do need it, I'll wash my hands before doing anything else. If I touch my phone, that gets cleaned too. Nice that these things formerly reserved for the germ-aware are now common knowledge. I wonder how far we'll retreat post-pandemic
