I am not a statistician. I made this graph in under 10 seconds by copying the numbers into Excel and clicking the "line graph" button. But I know what linear growth looks like and what exponential growth looks like.

While I don't doubt that actual cases are growing exponentially, I suspect this is essentially a plot of the number of test results which have come back and little more. That is, were 50% of the population infected, we would see the same chart as testing ramps up.
