There is definitely evidence for more bias in executive races — lots of good research in that area by @BLFF_org.

my general view from data and experience covering politics is that there's a small degree of gender-related bias. But you have to ignore a whole lot of factors surrounding Warren's ill-fated strategic considerations to think gender was the driving force in her demise.

1. decision to pivot left on *every* issue (not just economic ones), and then belatedly pivot away from Medicare for All towards the end 2. DNA test decision at beginning of race 3. attempt to accuse Sanders as sexist before Iowa in private meeting... before abandoning attack.

The fundamental argument I'm making—that "electability" concerns tend to work to women's detriment—doesn't mean women can't overcome them or even, if the right factors come together, turn electability to their advantage. It means electability is commonly an obstacle for women.
