This is amazing. There is ZERO evidence that he won. Or lost. We don't have any official results. But he's just up there pretending we do.

A Buttigieg campaign aide told me the basis for the claim is reports from 77% of their precinct captains. But: The Sanders campaign says its own figures show Sanders ahead. And given the huge differences between precincts, no way to say a % of the precincts is representative.

Could Buttigieg's declaration of victory end up being accurate? Certainly. It could also end up being inaccurate. We don't know and we won't know until the full results are available.

Or he's giving a speech to rally his supporters on a night where it is seeming like he did better than expected. Let him, you know, do what they all have been doing. Just a thought.

This is very different from the speeches the other candidates gave. The other candidates made a "yeah, we don't have results, but we're very confident!" argument. He is literally declaring victory.
