They are just objects. When you die, are you really sure your precious books won't just get chucked? The idea isn't being harmed, just the object. The reason I love my Kindle so much is because I carry a whole library with me.
On the one hand, people can do anything they want with books they own, and pretty much anything that makes people more likely to read is good.
