Secondary question: If I wear a balaclava, or even tie a scarf around my face, my glasses fog up. What then? Do any of the supposed anti-fogging products actually work? (Contacts aren't an option.)
Goose down parka with hood and fur/faux trim on hood. Wool hat, balaclava style. Layers underneath. Heavy duty mittens. Long underwear critical. Lined snow pants. Two layers thick wool socks. Real boots not pretty ones. Scarf to tie over mouth/nose to breathe.
When I tie a scarf over my face during an NYC cold snap—single-digit windchill, which counts as unbearably cold here—my glasses fog up. Is that going to freeze in -19? Will I end up with a layer of ice on my glasses just from breathing? Dear god, how do people live this way?
Get some cuddle duds, wear underneath a sweater. They work great here in Minnesota where we have 20-30 below real temperature. Good luck!
Acquire a face mask
Cashmere, particularly socks, over regular socks in your boots , sheepskin gloves, cashmere scarf and always a hat-Canadian
Personally I’m useless in this arena because where I live it’s rarely below 50f.
but I found this for https://twitter.com/julie_buckles/status/1056987304957562880?s=21 …https://twitter.com/julie_buckles/status/1056987304957562880 …
Also the key seems to be long underwear. Good luck!!
