Finally, a breakthrough: Someone says the man who lives across the hall from Neighbor B takes care of the dog sometimes when its owner is away. He works down the street. Husband walks out to go find him. 11/

We'll refer to this guy as John. John is not at his workplace, but another employee there gives my husband John's number. 12/

Husband calls John. John answers. Yes, of course he knows the dog. He's about 20 minutes away. He's coming. 13/

We wait. More neighbors come out. More people know the dog and her owner. They're horrified that she escaped. Jesus! How did that happen? 15/
