Is now a good time to say that I have never owned a cast iron pan and if it weren't for the six (6) separate posts I've seen this weekend from people bemoaning the idiot in their household who washed theirs with soap after Thanksgiving dinner, I would not have known that was bad?
Update: I showed my husband one of the posts and he sucked in his breath in horror, which tells you how much traditional gender roles apply in our household
Mistreating cast iron pans is heinous. Almost as horrible: leaving water spots on stainless steel pots.
