All I can think on reading/hearing that is "No," even if it's news I care about. There are succinct ways to say that that don't use imperatives!
The phrase "stand by for news," and all variations thereof, should be banned.

The wording isn't my problem with it, though. It's the obnoxiousness of saying, basically, "I will be posting news on some unspecified topic in an unspecified amount of time, so please keep refreshing my feed looking for it!" Just post the damn news when you have it.
