        Presumably these measures have inadvertently reduced R of many circulating (cold-causing) viruses too, including other human coronaviruses.

        A lockdown doesn't seem to be necessary to achieve this six week effect on the Influenza season. Here is the graph from Sweden (vecka = week, antal fall = cases).         But travel restrictions and other social distancing measures were still in place even if voluntary. And Sweden would naturally also benefit from measures elsewhere in Europe.
