I have long been in support of joining unions, but the practical process of finding and contacting relevant unions has been inaccessible.
Every PDF that I see on a government webpage hurts me. PDFs are not a lossless format & are fundamentally insecure.
Every Adobe Flash I have to activate on a Government web page or on a network like @cspan hurts me. Heat inefficient. Insecure. depreciated.
I have heard throughout the years that something like this should be "an app" but this should not be monolithic or monopolistic.
Though neither should it be endless fields of siloed information. @timberners_lee & co developed federated linked data for a semantic web.
Participation in civics should not be an extraordinary thing. It should be as regular as using social networking & the Internet day to day.
But participation in civics should not be an all consuming activity. Finding information abt bills & elections should be simpler.
Formally communicating w/ committees, task forces, and special districts that effect me & my community should be more straightforward.
Formal communication shouldn't be BYO process every time. Checking consistency & integrity of gov & records should be easy by default.
And as recent developments are showing, we can not trust centralized institutions to safeguard our public data. Public redundancy & backup.

Sad state of affairs that we have 1 @internetarchive, & it is so woefully understaffed & lacking resources & dev. Archives are basic.

I should be able to see graphs of my local governments & their connections to other govs & corporations. This should be automatic.
Any person who runs for or achieves a government office should be considered in large part public knowledge. As should their relations.
I am constantly astounded at how much effort it has taken for minor linkage to be made between Trump & associates & Russian organized crime.
The information has been there. But it hasn't been analyzed or it has been suppressed by various intelligence operatives domestic & foreign.
Also, connecting w/ @DisVisibility @SFdirewolf @EndInvisibility & other activists orgs should not be hard. Joining should be robust.
