Good thread. I'd add a nuance: fruit "wants" to be eaten by an animal that will deposit its seeds in a good place to grow, when they are ready (ripe). Fruits can have selective toxins that deter some animals from eating them at the wrong time, while attracting others.

Has anyone ever asked 100+ people, who have lost 50+lbs, and kept it off for 5+ years, how they did it? The solution to obesity will be in their answers. Can we get 100 to answer here? Please retweet and tag people who have done incredibly well in the face of adversity.

Recent human evolution: A gene variant that aids metabolism of plant-food into essential fats is much higher in traditionally vegetarian Indians. Present in 70% of South Asians, 53% of Africans, 29% of East Asians, and 17% of Europeans. (Euros need to avoid veganism)

How many native ducks are killed to protect rice crops for our grain based and friends? 2014 suggested 200000 in previous 5 years in New South Wales, Australia alone.

The problem is, if those values are ideological, or reflect the bias of who funds it, it is possible to come up with a methodology that proves what you want it to. There is a long history of this in science. The classic example was measuring skulls to try to prove racial

Couldn't find humans, just rats. Glyphosate is synthetic analog to our amino acid glycine so it may get incorporated into and disrupt our nl protein synthesis interfering with insulin glucose fxn. It's not clear. Would need human study to confirm. Thought provoking though 🤔

Why is Kellogg's reducing/removing Round Up (glyphosate) from it's cereals? Have our 'carbs' been poisoned? Are they helping cause our OB T2DM FATTY LIVER MetSyn INSULIN RESISTANCE epidemic? Is this partly why I when I went I reversed my OB MetSy IR?🤔

This has been all over Twitter. Lots of climate tweeps have been pointing to it as evidence that local food is just a romantic eco-myth - that if we really want to eat environmentally, then ‘the what’ matters, not ‘the where’. Time for a thread…

I think most of us need to stop referring to our WOE as ‘doing’ keto or carnivore. Far easier to say ‘I prefer to stick to meat and veg’ then just maybe you won’t get labelled as eating a dangerous, restrictive and cultish diet.

Unstoppable fires! We can manage a 3MW fire. But these man-made fires burn at 70 megawatts per meter. They are 20 times more intense than the largest fires humans can control. See the studies.
